1. Error - General Network Error, ConnectionOpen(PreLoginHandshake())

Hi

I keep getting this error if i cancel a running query.

Any idea on what could be the cause / soln pls.

The full error text is:

"A connection could not be established to <servername>

Reason: General Network Error, Check you network
documentation..ConnectionOpen(PreLoginHandshake()).

Please verify SQL Server is running and check your SQL Server registration
properties, (by right clicking on the <servername> node) and try again"

Also, the error on the SQL Server query analyzer is

"Query cancelled by User
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Operation canceled
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Timeout expired
ODBC: Msg 0, Level 16, State 1
Communication link failure

Connection Broken"

The strange part is ... i cannot connect to the server from any installation
of Enterprise Manager
