OWC Error - For experience MDX / OWC users

Post by Guy » Mon, 13 Jan 2003 13:26:01

It seems that OWC tries to manipulate MDX queries to retreive the data.

This is a real BUG for us because the log give us a new query.  And
something that we don't want.
Can someone please help me bypass the generation that owc do!

Plus is there anyway that we can skip the manipulation done by OWC on the
MDX.

OWC Error - For experience MDX / OWC users

Guy,

OWC relies on generation of named sets in order to browse data. It needs
this in order to insure the navigation capabilities (drill up/down etc). So,
this does not look like a bug to me.

Thanks,
Cristian

1. OWC, MDX Sample and Object Not Found Error

My setup is:

Server

W2000 AS2K (workgroup)
SQL Server 2000 and Analysis Server (SP2 for each)
IIS 5.0
OWC Installed
MSOLAP in a VDIR

I have tried the VDIRs on Anonymous and NT auth.

Client

XP Pro (workgroup)
Office XP
PTS Full.exe as well

Here is my problem:

When I try to hit a web page with OWC on it, hosted on my
server, I get the Object Not Found error. I cut and paste
the code into VB and the error is on the
ConnectionString. I am using http://<Server> as in the
conentionstring. I get the same error with the MDX Sample
on my client using http.

When I remove the HTTP://<SERVER> and go with straight
TCP/IP I get "The operation requested failed due to
security problems - the user cannot be authenticated"
from .ASP, VB and the MDX Sample.

I know there has been a ton posted regarding this issue
but I am stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
