1. sql server error 18456 login failed for user U_user
Hi
I have a client that can not login in to a SQL2K server
from a 95 ws. The odbc will test successfully with either
tcpip or Nmaed Pipes.
They get the 18456 only when they try to loginto an
application. The Authentication is set to 'sql and
Windows'.
It is a Windows 2000 server. Could Active Directory be
part of the problem?
I don't think the client has installed the SQL2K driver.
They are using the SQL7 driver. If they install the SQL2K
driver, won't it load MDAC2.6? Could this be factor?
This client was not able to login to the app on the server
until they switched the odbc from 'sql and Windows'
to 'Windows only'. Once they did that, they were able to
get in ok. BUT the Authentication is defintely! set
to 'sql and Windows'.
Any help is appreciated!!
