Have you synchronized your domain ? Secondly, change the service logon
information from a named account to a system account and register the SQL
Server again using SQL Server authentication, if the problem persists.

When the password for a service account changes in the SAM, you also
need to changed the password using the Services applet of the Control
Panel, otherwise the service starts using the old password.

Thank you for the responses to this question - I have
created a SQL user but I changed the Services password
first Thanks
