ODBC Drivers and SQL Server Date Error

Can ODBC Drivers on a client machine cause a dateconversion ERRORs when
recevieing data back from SQL server:

--------------------
Description[microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Drivers][Sql Server] Syntax Error
converting character string to smalldate data type
Source: Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers.
--------------------

The error does not occur at the SQL Server end, as iv used profiler to
capture all the commands sent from the client to the SQL Server before the
error message is displayed. Ive then Ran thes statements in QueryAnalyzer
and
everything seems to work fine.

Its seems that the data thats is generated from the statements and returned
to the client causes the problem?? Can ODBC Drivers on the client machine
read the data can cause the error, even before the VB code gets hold of
it???
Corrupt Mdac??

If it was a problem within the CLient VB code there error would have been
captured!!!!

Not likely, more likely the format of your date can cause this error.  Can
you show the format of your date, and give us some clue about the regional
settings and dateformat settings of your SQL Server machine?  Also, try
using an ANSI standard date format, like YYYYMMDD... this is much safer than
the typical dd/mm/yyyy or mm/dd/yyyy formats...

1. ODBC error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Insert Error

Hi!

I have a Table - where every INSERT/MODIFIY/DELETE is copied to a "history
table"
that table has the same struktur as the main table!
If i delete or insert any fields of table i always get the error:

******************************
'RootCodeMT' table saved successfully
'CodeMT' table
- Unable to preserve trigger 'tr_OnUpdateNewCode'.
ODBC error: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Insert Error:
Column name or number of supplied values does not match table definition.
*****************************

first the table isn't saved ... and the best ----> near all referencies to
or from that table are deleted from the diagrams
what can i do to get them all back - without new-create them!

best regards
-Brisi
