I have several clients that will have an Access ADP file attaching to a SQL
server over the Web. I need to set the default protocol to TCP/IP or/and
install just the Client Utils.
How do I install just the Client Utils. from the SQL CD with out giving
everyone a copy of the SQL CD? Is there a separate install for just the
Client Utils?

The .exe file is installed with the MDAC_TYP.EXE which is on the SQL Server CD. It
might be installed with the MDAC which you can download as well. And probably with
SQLREDIS.EXE. I believe that the .exe is in the system32 directory.

1. unable to disable named pipes as default client protocol
sql 2k query analizer and entrprise manager
keep on using named pipes as default protocol when connecting to
a database server running sql server 7 ,
even if named pipes have removed as available protocols on the client side,
(tcp/ip has been set as the only client proptocol ).
how's that ? any idea ?
