Replication and SP3

Replication and SP3

Post by Alla » Thu, 06 Feb 2003 08:32:59

Hi,
We currently have 5 SQL Server running replication, 1
Publisher, 1 Distributer and 3 Subscriber.
My question is that we are planning to install SQL Server
SP3 soon, do we have to drop all replication set first
before we install it? Would the active replication set
prevent SP3 from implementing replication related fixes?

Please advise

No, you should be able to upgrade your sql server with replication intact.
Please read the sp3readme.htm file first for any info that may apply to you.

thanks.

Caution : There is a bug with SP3 for Replication.

MS is releasing a HotFix for this next week.

We call PSS - they gave us a patch for free.

There is a Hotfix available from Microsoft which you can run against
the Distribution database using Query Analyzer before setting up the
Replication.

1. Replication and sp3

I have a Problem with Replication between SQL-ServerCE and 2k after
installing SP3 on SQL Server 2000.

The Push and Pull function works fine but the merge-replication reports
error:

27.01.2003 13:56:30: LTT_Merge:Run 0 0  Description:Run Source:Microsoft SQL
Server 2000 Windows CE Edition Number:80045901 Native Error:2904529045

27.01.2003 13:56:31: LTT_Merge:Run 0 0  Description:SELECT permission denied
on object 'MSdistributor_access', database 'tempdb', owner 'dbo'.
Source:Merge Process Number:80045901 Native Error:00

It seems to be a problem with security on the 'tempdb'.

Before installing sp3 it worked very well.

thanks for help

7. Merge Replication and SP3 for SQL 2000

8. Oracle Developer positions in D.C. Area

9. Replication after sp3

10. SOLUTION: Replication after sp3 fails "select permission denied on tempdb.dbo.MSdistributor_access"

11. Problem with merge replication since SP3- "permission denied"

12. replication fails after sp3

13. msde sp3 merge replication error
