Hi Dana,
Do you still need help with this issue? If so can you please let me know
the following?
1) Is the SQL server agent online on the second node?
2) What kind of jobs are failing?

Thank you.
Ramu.

Hi,

Thank you for the update. How about the other jobs on the server?

When you talk about the error messages, are those the errors when the
failover has happened or the ones you see right now?

Do you still see the following message in the SQLAgent log?

[000] Unable to access the password for the 'SQLAgentCmdExec' proxy
account (reason: The system cannot find the file specified)

Thank you.
Ramu

Hi Dana,
Please check the following:
1) If the start up account for SQL server agent and SQL Server service is a
member of Windows local administrators group on both the nodes

2) Also make sure that the SQL server agent account has the following
rights on both the nodes of the cluster

Log on as a service Act as part of the operating system Replace a process
level token Increase quotas
Log on As a batch job

3) Are you using SQLMail or SQLagent mail in your cluster? If so please
disable it since it is not supported on a cluster.

Good luck.
Ramu.

Hi Dana,
That could very well be the source of the problem. Please take a look at
the following KB articles which explains that SQLMail is not fully
supported on clustered SQL installations

Q263556 INF: How to Configure SQL Mail
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;Q263556

Q298723 BUG: SQL Mail Not Fully Supported w/Cluster Virtual SQL Servers

1. Please Help - DTS Package NOT Running Via job Schedule in SQL 7.0 SP1

Hi,
I  have some DTS packages - all packeages are running when executing the
packages directly, but when scheduled to run, it is showing  the following
error:

DTSRun:  Loading...      Error:  -2147008507 (80074005); Provider Error:  0
(0)      Error string:  Unspecified error         Error source:  Microsoft
Data Transformation Services (DTS) Package      Help file:  sqldts.hlp
Help context:  713         Error:  -2147467259 (80004005); Provider Error:
11 (B)      Error string:  [DBMSSOCN]General network error. Check your
network documentation.      Error source:  Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL
Server      Help file:        Help context:  0.  Process Exit Code 1.  The
step failed.

Another problem: The packages are not executing from all terminals. Out of 3
people, one can execute the packages directly from his workstation, but two
of us, including me, can not. it send the following pop-up message:

Error Source: Microsoft Data Transformation Services (DTS) Package
Error Description: The Parameter is incorrect.

These were all working fine before. I changed the SA password and then
problem started. I reset the password to Blank (which was blank when
packages were created and running sommothly) and still same problem.
I have linked servers with the servers where the packages were staying and
running.

Any help is highly appreciated. It is very important.
