SQL 2000 Service Pack 3

SQL 2000 Service Pack 3

Post by Chri » Thu, 30 Jan 2003 18:27:36

I have installed the SQL Service Pack 3 - actually did it
when I upgraded from 7.0 to 2000 2 weeks ago.  Well my
dilema is now there is that blasted worm out.  And my
version identification is only saying I only have SP2.  I
downloaded SP3 right after the intial upgrade and so that
should include SP1 and SP2 and install them with the
SP3 .  However SP3 is not showing up?

Any clues?

Thanks,

Christina

Perhaps you only clicked on the exe (to extract the contents of the file to
a directory).  The next step would be clicking on setup.bat.

Nope it goes throught the entire Installation.  I went
from the SQL2000 upgrade to the SP3 installation. So I
know that it's installed something.  Just not showing that

showing up to SP2.

What options are you selecting when install SP3?  I have now installed the

Server  2000 - 8.00.760 (Intel X86).

What's the file version of  sqlservr.exe ?
If you have a look in sqlsp.log are there any
errors ? (usually in C:\WINNT )

SQL 2000 Service Pack 3

I have installed it on 3 and they all return that same

says SP2.

If I run the SELECT  SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'),
SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'),
SERVERPROPERTY ('edition'), I get service Pack 3.
So I'm gonna assume that I have SP3 but with the

Service Pack 2) you don't really want to believe you have
SP3 if in actuallity you only have SP2.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

The SP2 you are seeing refers to your OS. The version
number 8.00.760 refers to SS SP3.
