If I run the SELECT SERVERPROPERTY('productversion'),
SERVERPROPERTY ('productlevel'),
SERVERPROPERTY ('edition'), I get service Pack 3.
So I'm gonna assume that I have SP3 but with the
Service Pack 2) you don't really want to believe you have
SP3 if in actuallity you only have SP2.

The SP2 you are seeing refers to your OS. The version
number 8.00.760 refers to SS SP3.

1. ODBC + SQL 2000 Service Pack 3 Slow Down
This happened to me once, and didn't realize that ODBC tracing was turned
on. After turning it off, it was fine.
However, this may not be your problem, but it's worth a shot.
