SQL-Server ODBC version 3.70.0690 and 3.70.0694 - extended fetch problem

SQL-Server ODBC version 3.70.0690 and 3.70.0694 - extended fetch problem

Post by Ariel bentolil » Fri, 24 Dec 1999 04:00:00

I', experiencing a problem with the driver mentioned in the subject that
when I'm trying to fetch data using the SQLExtendedFetch API, when I fetch
memo fields using the SQLGetData API, I get gibberish.
This problem only started when I upgraded the driver from 3.70.0623 version
to a newer one. If I, instead, use SQLFetch it works.

Any help would be appreciated.

SQL-Server ODBC version 3.70.0690 and 3.70.0694 - extended fetch problem

Hi Ariel

This is a known bug in Builds 690, 694 and later ODBC drivers. The MS bug
number is 56513.

Possible work arounds are:

(1) Use SQLFetch instead of SQLExtendedFetch
(2) Don't use SQLSetStmtAttr to ask for a server cursor. Just take the
default.
(3) Use an older version of the driver (3.70.0623 works fine)
