Verifying hot fix patch

Verifying hot fix patch

Post by WJ » Fri, 26 Apr 2002 05:18:55

I just installed the hot fix MS02-020 (I'm running SQL
7.0), and I'm wondering if there's a version number I can
use to verify.  Microsoft suggests checking via the
date/time stamps of the files.  Previously, (MS02-007) a
version number was listed, and could be checked by

instance, if you had successfully installed the patch, the
version would be 1021 or greater.

To further complicate things, the download has the number
1030 in it's name, but the value I get after running the
version check is 1028.

Can anyone verify this?

Thanks,

WJ

Hi WJ,
This is a very interesting question!  You are actually on build 1028 as the

(with the higher build numbers) were done to the DLLs and not to the SQL
executable.  Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Allison,

Thanks for the reply.  I think I understand but I want to
make sure. So 1028 is the correct version number I should

1030 in it is because that's the highest revision other
DLLs are at?

Thanks in advance for the clarification.
