You may revoke everything EXCEPT permissions on system tables.... Any user
needs (indirectly) to look at system tables.

1. database role Public loses permissions

My environment is SQL7 SP3, using NT security, within an NT 4.0 SP6 LAN.

When logins are added to the server, these logins are automatically
members of the
public database role.  The public role is set to have select permissions

on many
tables within many databases on the server.  These tables are replicated

to another SQL server into the same database names. When the server is
rebooted, the public role loses its select permission on some(not all)
of these replicated tables.  Has anyone else seen this or have any ideas

of the cause?  Thanks.
