Installing SQL Server 6.5 Developer edition

Installing SQL Server 6.5 Developer edition

Post by Shafeek Khalid » Tue, 07 Jan 2003 18:00:58

Hi,

I installed SQL Server .65 Developer edition in my WIN2K Professional
machine. But I couldn't find any start menu entries. And I'm not able to
open the "Books online"
Still, I'm able to work using that SQL Server.

But I'm able to install successfully in another Win2K Professional system
(with entries in the start menu).
What may be the possible reason behind this different behavior ?

Hi Shafeek,

According to the following Knowledge Base (KB) article: Q122352 INF:
Supported Windows Versions for SQL Server
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;122352), Windows
2000 Professional operating system supports SQL Server 6.5 Developer
Edition with Service Pack 5a.

Please try to apply the latest SQL Server 6.5 SP on your machine from this
KB article: Q197177 INF: How to Obtain SQL Server 6.5 Service Pack 5a
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;197177).
