I get the error below fairly frequently- What is causing it and should I be
concerned?

DESCRIPTION: Error : 1608, Severity: 21, State: 2
  A network error was encountered while sending results to the front end.
Check the SQL Server errorlog for more information.

MESSAGE: (None)

Ususally the error is caused by dying front end. Or your client didn't
close connection cleanly. If you don't see other errors your SQL Server
should be fine. Not necessary to worry about it.

'1433', loginname 'MaxMillion', hostname 'Xxx Name'.
2001/07/13 09:46:21.09 ods      OS Error : 64, The specified network name is
no longer available.
2001/07/13 09:46:21.10 spid67   Error : 1608, Severity: 21, State: 2
2001/07/13 09:46:21.10 spid67   A network error was encountered while
sending results to the front end. Check the SQL Server errorlog for more
information.

They all mean the same connection error. I'd not worry about them.

My client has received errors 1608 and 17824 from the SQL Server 6.5 server
recently. I am looking for a more definitive answer as to what the error
means and how do we correct the problem. I understand that there may be a
network problem but where do I start looking?
