Quote:> There is a function in VBA called "format". If I have a number x=12345,

and if I always need 6 digits, I can do something like:
Quote:>    Format(x, "000000")
> the result would be 012345.  Now I'd like to know if there is similar

function in TSQL or how do I acomplish the same.   thanks

1. Formating question and member properties

Im new to MDX and OLAP.

Using the sales cube from the foodmart database I havent found a way to
format some query with aditional information from a dimension.

For instance I can make a query like this

select
    {[Measures].[Unit Sales]} on columns,
    {[Store].[Store Name].members} on rows
from Sales

which produces an output like this

Store 6            21,333.00
Store 7            25,663.00
Store 24          25,635.00
etc.

BUT WHAT IF WE NEED TO DISPLAY THE NAME OF THE MANAGER OF THE STORE BESIDES
THE STORE'S NAME?
Like This

Store 6                 Maris                       21,333.00
Store 7                 White                       25,663.00
Store 24               Byrd                         25,635.00
etc.

I wish it can be done with different fields and not using a computed
dimension.

I dont know how to do that with a MDX Query, I think that it should be
using the member property, but how.

Could it be possible using Excel 2000?

Thanks
