Does anyone know the cause and workaround to resolve this?

1. Backup attempt causes Failed executing API CreateProcess error
I've created a SQL Database Maintenace Plan on a remote NT 4 server (running
MSDE - not a full version of SQL v7). The problem that I am encountering is
that when I attempt to run the backup I receive the following error:
Server: Msg: 22029 Level: 16 State: 1 Line: 0
Failed executing API CreateProcess
Does anyone know the cause and workaround to resolve this?
