You can specify to SQL Server the format of dates during INSERTs via two
methods:
1. DATEFORMAT
2. CONVERT
The SQL Server Books Online has additional documentation on the DATEFORMAT
setting, and for using CONVERT to specify the format of dates during
INSERTs, check out the section "Writing International Transact-SQL
Statements" in the SQL Server Books Online.

When posting, inclusion of SQL (CREATE TABLE ..., INSERT ..., etc.) which
can be cut and pasted into Query Analyzer is appreciated.
