3d studio vs. kinetix 3d studio max

HAHAHAHA

3D studio MAX was really made by Autodesk before they split and became
Kinetix.  MAX is much better than 3D studio.  Forget about 3D studio.  You
can output 3DS files from MAX and that is somewhat of a standard.

Max has a bodged .3DS file output which is pretty much a waste of time
as it doesn't export mapping coordinates. It's also very very slow -
so unless you have a Pentium II 266 with >128Mb, i'd stick with
version 4. If it's just for low polygon game meshes then version 4 is
your best value for money.

Autodesk owns Kinetix. 3dmax is a succesor to 3d studio. 3dmax is far superior
to 3d studio.

You are wrong. Max 1.2 with the 3ds export fix exports mapping coordinates
just fine.

The requirements aren't that steep. It runs fine with an AMD 200 with 32megs
of ram.

1. 3D Studio MAX -> Direct3D: left-hand vs. right-hand coordinate

Hi everyone,
I wrote an exporter plugin for MAX and am currently trying to use the
data in Direct3D. The difference of corrdinate systems between the two is
giving me headache. What values should be changed when I read in the data?
The data contains both meshes and animations. Which of the following should
be changed?

Vertices
Normals
Nodes' transformation matrices
Animation data: rotation(AngAxis), scale(Point3) and translation(Point3)

        Thanks in advance.
