contains full version of VC4.0,Directx5.0 and a special version of
Acknex3D along with the online books-
VisualC++4.2,VisualC++5.0,Direct3D and DirectX

I just bought this and it is excellent! The only thing I DON'T like
about it is that I just found out that VC++ doesn't compile DOS programs
(or let me know if it does). So I still keep DJGPP on my disk in case I
want to compile a DOS prog.

Yes, I agree...This Developers Kit only costs about 40 bucks and it has
a whole bunch of stuff on one cd....VC++ 4, DiectX, Acknex...and several
books on VC++ and Directx...actually within a few days you could be
making a small level....however, it would be nice if they showed you how
to make games in VC++4 because all ACKNEX really is...is a level editor
that edits WDL files...in the end, I found that this cd was actually
worth the money for a future programmer

I looked on www.mcp.com/shop (Macmillan computer publishing). It gave
the mac version, but nothing on the windows version.
But someone said they just bought it.

Conitec has a German version of the book already published. Published
by Tewi-Verlag in Germany it costs 59 DM . I have the book already
pity i cant
read German hehe ;p its just a matter of time before the English
version of
"Game Studio 3d" book is published. btw: Conitec's Website has a
picture and
info on the book in German of course. :)

start. In my
humble opinion they should start with this ENGINE. The ENGINE
only costs
$99 for the lite version commercial version is $199 pro version
$1450.
