Where do I start to learn how to use the AS400 to connect our users to
the Internet?
Will it work with DSL?

Check out http://as400bks.rochester.ibm.com for the TCP/IP and Web manuals.
Yes, AS/400 will work with DSL, as normal procedures use a LAN interface to
connect to the internet router.
Kind regards,
Paul

1. Convert i-Series-native-files to Excel-format in the i-Series environment.
I have a routine, where I produce a large number of files in i-Series,
for distribution to different customers. The files are distributed as
attachments in e-mails. Before distribution, they are zipped and
translated within the i-Series, so that they appear as ASCII textfiles
(*.txt) when unzipped. Now I have a request for files that should
appear as excel-files (*.xls) when unzipped. If someone know of how to
do this, I'd be greatful to hear about it.
