HPT is included in base OS/400 software. You don't have to pay for it or buy
PSF/400.
You can use AFPDS printer datastream, and the datastream will be
automatically converted to PCL language by the AS400 writer. Some times the
graphics are not easy to align with characters datastream. I have used a tip
to solve this problem : use of raster mode for AFPDS datasream (change made
on source retrieved by RTVWSCSRC)
The only thing to do is defining a printer with CRTLANPRT command. The
parameters to use are dependant of hardware printer material. Many examples
of definitions are in "Printing V" red book. You have also information in
"AS400 Guide to AFP and PSF" on AS400 CD-Rom Documentation.
