Lexmark Optra R+

Lexmark Optra R+

Having just recived my Optra R+ with 2mb RAM, I now wish to purchase a further
8mb, Correct me if I'm wrong, but I belive I require 1 * 72 pin simm with 8mb to
slot into the spare memory2 slot, however should it be with or without parity
(ie *32 or *36), and what speed 60ns, 70ns or 80ns.

One dealer reccomends I buy the *official* 8mb simm at 458.00 UKPounds, another
says that they will provide *matched* memory for 293.00 UKP and others advertise
for 235.00 UKP.I'm sceptical about the *official* and *matched* claims, and
don't like being ripped off.

To sum up do I need 1 * 72 pin simm (with or without parity?) and of what
speed (60, 70 or 80ns)

Many Thanks for any help or information

We have an Optra Lxi. I bought a 1 * 72 pin simm with 16mb and no
parity (*32). It works fine. The 8mb modules that Lexmark provided
standard with the printer didn't have any parity (it had 8, not
9 chips), that was the clue. I paid $445 for the 16 Mb from
a third party distributor. The slowest memory available in that
configuration was 70ns. It works fine.

All the memory is for duplex printing with high-res images on
both sides of the page.
