Request Recommendations For Color Printer and Printer Paper.

Greetings From South Texas:

I have been taking lots of digital photos of my new grandson and
editing them with Paintshop Pro 7.0.

My wife says "Nice work, but how about some prints I can show people!"
(1st grandchild)

I do not have a color printer and have no knowledge as to what to
select.  I would like to print out some nice photos but they don't
have to be "studio" quality.  I don't want to spend a fortune but
could pay  two or three hundred dollars if needed.

I would really appreciate any recommendations as to printers and
printer paper.

Many thanks!

Xerox, has gone out of the home printer business, and have slashed the
prices on the Workcentre 940 to 149.95 at Office Depot, you can also get a
extended warrenty, and after the supply is gone if anything happens to it
you get a new printer, of that quality or better, it is a 1200x1200 dpi
which give you very good print quality, 5 cart. so you can buy just the
color you are out of, for 12.95 per cart. also just for a bonus it also has
a 1200 x 1200 color scanner, fax and copy built in

1. Permanent ink, printer recommendations request

Greetings!

My Lexmark Z51 has died and I'm looking for a replacement.

My family and I have gotten heavily into digital photography.
Initially, I was thinking about just replacing the Lexmark with a
similiar model, but now I'm starting to do my homework and finding
more, possibly better alternatives.

I did not know until recently that anybody made permanent ink for
inkjets.  Is Epson the only one?  Or are there other makers?

I'm looking at the Epson Stylus Photo 825.  I like the permenant ink
and stand alone w/o PC aspects.  But I've heard some grainyness in the
4X6 pictures and the ink cartridges are expensive and someone told me
they cannot be refilled.

Is this a good one?  What are some others to consider?

TIA
