Are compatible ink cartridges any good?  I am particularly looking for BC02
black cartridge for my canon BJC-210.  Is quality same, slightly worse or
much worse?  or does it depend on brand?

The canon BC-02 cartridge -- or any with an integral print head, has
never been offered in generic form. The costs to reverse engineer the
electronics would be 6 or 7 figures; and in today's litigous
environment, a company the size of Canon could dip into their legal
petty cash account and sink any competitor rash enough to
'counterfeit' their cartridge. Seiko-Epson is doing it now for their
reservoir only type cartridges, and HP went after an Oregon based
reseller over 150 Deskjet compatible 51626A types.

Refilling, on the other hand, has consitently been ruled a
'permissable repair' by U.S. Courts. Instructions for refilling the

You can purchase refilled bc-02 cartridges that have been cleaned and
tested for as low as $40 (for 2) at 2for1inkjet.com
