MW debugger div by 0 error on dbl click

Post by Fred Dush » Mon, 01 Apr 1996 04:00:00

I experience division by zero errors if I double click on a pointer
in the variables pane of the debug window in CW8 MW Debug/MacOS 1.4.

I'm running system 7.1 on a Q610, 32-bit addressing, VM on.  I have
numerous extensions, including Drag and Drop and the Thread Manager.

The last time this happened, it thrashed my project, then the IDE.
Oddly, after a clean reboot (there should be a word for this
for us poor Mac programmers) -- ie, a reboot NOT as a consequence of
a system crash --  both the project and the IDE were fine.  Go figure.

Here's some disassembled code around the div 0 error from MacsBug:
(In this case, the pointer was to a character string (constant)).

1. Crashing dbl click on PC project

Hi there,

Old Mac Code Warrior user, I installed it on a PC for some X-platform
project.
CW Pro 5.2 did fine, till suddendly double clicking on a project file (to
open it in the editor) now ends up with a:

    "Unhandled exception at: 0xc0000005
    at address: 0x0049142d"

The file is properly displayed in the background, though.
If I use the "Open" file command, the file shows up properly.

I desinstalled, reinstalled, upgraded to 5.3, to no avail.
I suspect an OCX problem. Any hints, anybody? (I have a Pentium II, 96Mb
ram, NT 4, SP3).
