Configure Cisco ATA-186 Analog/SIP/h323 via 2600 and FXO voice cards

Post by Hal Pitt » Fri, 29 Jun 2001 01:26:07

I am looking for an simple example of connecting a Cisco ATA-186 analog
phone to
IP (SIP or H.323) converter to a Cisco 2610 with FXO ports connected to the
PSTN.
I want the phones to be able to call/receive calls via the PSTN.

Thanks in advance for the help.

I thought an ATA-186 is a two-port FXS box?  I guess you could put an
FXS back-to-back to an FXO?

1. Configure Cisco ATA-186 Analog/SIP/h323 via 2600 and FXO voice cards

As I understand it, you want to call from a cisco 2610 to the 186 via
IP.
To do this, you have to create dial-peers (voip not pots) in your 2610
that matches the UIDs of your ATA.  Dial-peers must use
"destination-pattern"
and "session target" commands.  Make sure also that you are you using
the correct
codec.  Otherwise, you'll get one-way or no audio at all.

This applies both to SIP and H323.
