OSPF problems...

Post by Baher Esma » Tue, 04 Feb 1997 04:00:00

Again I'm having problems with the OSPF routing between some routers. It
seems that it's related to the IOS version. I have 2 routers one with IOS
11.1(3) and the other one with IOS 11.1(6), they didn't work together,
whereas the one with IOS 11.1(6) worked with another third router 11.0(13).
Can any one help...

Without more detail, no.

I suggest opening a case with your appropriate support provider or take
the easy route and use all 11.1(6).

1. 3620 OSPF -> Portmaster 3 OSPF Problems Problems Problems

Hi,
I am still having great difficulties getting OSPF to work across a ISDN
(ppp) link between a Cisco 3620 and a Portmaster 3

On the Cisco, i have the following set up :
router ospf 1
network 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 area 0.0.0.0
network 203.38.35.192 0.0.0.192 area 1
network 203.83.128.0  0.0.0.255 area 1

interface bri0/0
ip ospf network broadcast

interface ethernet0/0
ip ospf network broadcast

networks under ethernet0/0 are covered by area 1

A linux box on the local network running gated is the only neighbor it can
see.

On the PM3 when you issue the following : show ospf neighbor, you see
ptp64  0.0.0.0         203.38.35.193   Init       1 203.38.35.193       1
N/A

I'm am sure i have made what will seem to some like an idiotic mistake, but
i am new to configuring OSPF and could really use some help.

thanks,
Michael Slater
