There are plenty of them.  Bullet is the one I'm most fond of.  Available
for most DOS compilers and Windows (DOS C/C++, QB45, BASIC7, VB/DOS,PB3, and
more still).  At the FTP site below (BLT*.ZIP).  OS/2 soon, too.

1. Indexed File Support Package?

Does anyone know of any subroutine libraries or packages that
provide indexed file capabilities under MS-DOS?  I'm looking for something
that is similar to the VMS O/S RMS indexed file system if I can get it.  It
can be either shareware or commercial.  It would be especially helpful if
the package's routines could be called from Fortran (though this is not an
absolute requirement).
Thanks in advance for any help that anyone can give me.
Sincerely,
