I am going to start reasearch for the 70-016 test, but I
have Microsoft Visual Studio 7.0 installed. Is this going
to cause any confusion?

No you should be OK as vc7 allows for the creation of pre-dotnet type
apps. The exam focuses mainly on com within the mfc, atl and sdk. Data
access is covered through oledb, ado & odbc (you may get the odd one
on the mfc data classes).

1. Is exam 70-015 or 70-016 for better overall knowledge of VC ?

hi,

i have a MCP in VB and am looking to get one for VC. with the MCSD track i
can use it as an elective, so I just want to take the VC exam that will
increase my knowledge of VC. i can get the distributed MCP for VB for
knowledge of MTS, COM + DCOM. any opinions on which VC exam covers more of
using VC as a language and a tool ?

thanks,
lee
