Hi,

I am using Code Warrior v7.1, the Power Plant Book - Chapter 14
solution code falls over when clicking File-->Open with the following
error:-

Exception Thrown error -5699
function AskOpenFile
UNavServicesDialogs.cp
Line #434

this is on a G3 Mac, 256mb memory, OS 9.0

code snippet:

        UNavServicesDialogs::LFileChooser       chooser;

        // Deactivate the desktop.
        ::UDesktop::Deactivate();

        // Browse for a document.
        NavDialogOptions*       options = chooser.GetDialogOptions();
        if (options != nil) {
                options->dialogOptionFlags = kNavDefaultNavDlogOptions
                                                                                + kNavSelectAllReadableItem;
        }

        if (chooser.AskOpenFile(LFileTypeList(ResType_Text))) {
                // Send an apple event to open the file.
                AEDescList              docList;
                chooser.GetFileDescList(docList);
                SendAEOpenDocList(docList);
        }

        // Activate the desktop.
        ::UDesktop::Activate();

any ideas ???

Yep  I see it, and can reproduce it.  I'll report this.  If there is a
work around I'll let you know.

The problem was ???? as the creator Nav Services needs this to be
something or else it spits out this error..   Change it to something
unique  say CWIE (Metrowerks CodeWarrior) and it works.

1. 14% Installation Solution

If anyone out there comes across the solution to this problem, would you
please be kind enough to post it so that everyone may be able to begin
playing the game so that we may also be able to complain about the other
problems that everyone else seems to be having?

Thanks.
