runsyntx problems

Post by Lightningchas » Tue, 17 Jun 2003 23:58:33

Hi all,

I want to run a syntax file in a cmd window using: runsyntx.exe
"file.sps" but it won't excecute it. First I get an "invalid path"
error and after that a runtime error '-2147467259 (80004005)'. Method
'~' of object '~' failed.
I tried several (simple) syntax files and they all give this error.
I'm using Windows XP and SPSS version 9.0.1
Anybody a solution for this problem?

1. $TERMCAP problem... (minor problem causing major problem))

I have the variable nl=\032 which is the character which moves the
cursor down one line without executing a cr and clearing the next line...
I have done everything I know to suppress the host from sending
\012 as the nl character, but no matter what I do it just won't understand
that I don't want the nl character as \012...

everything looks ok, other than that one glitch, but that single byte makes
using the $TERMCAP useless...

I am running a Tandy Mod4 using the COMM/CMD program...

below is the latest setting that I used...

TERM=jazz ; export TERM
 :vi=^O:vs=^N:\\\^I:nw=^Z\035:ve=^" ; export TERMCAP
