Double = 300kb/sec

Hello, a newbie with CDRWs here.
I bought a HP 8200+ today and wanted to burn a AudioCD in Nero. The HP
supports 4/4/24, so in the BurnOptions-menu I changed the default detected
speed 1x (!?) to 4x. I pressed OK and thought it would burn and all would be
ok. But, the meter stopped at 2% for some time and then an error came up
saying: (translated from Dutch) "Simulation not succeeded with 4x". W-why?
I bought a 4x CDRW! This shuld work,right?
Also, I tried it on a special audio-CDR of TDK, can this be a part of the
