SCSI error with EZCDPro 2.0 and Philips CDD 2600

Hi,

There are big probs with my new Philips CDD2600 and EZCDPro 2.0 while burning cd-roms:

The burning process runs Ok till the end of data, but after that, if the
session is closed, I've got an error message:

SCSI communication error: 220-0A-00-00

The help-file says:

220-10  SCSI request aborted by host    The controller has aborted the procedure

I use an Adaptec 2940U. Some lines above I read:

220     SCSI error      Generic. SCSI controller timeout before device finished.
An inconsistency or a slight conflict somewhere on the SCSI
bus that doesn't surface til the recorder is activated. If
it happens at the end of a write, most likely the controller
is timing out before the recorder is finished.
Contact the manufacturer of your SCSI host adapter for tech support.

It does'nt matter if I burn from files or an image file. There are no errors
with the test loop before burning. In the projekt window General/CD Format I had the
"close session" control enabled, becose the data are 632MB and I don't need another
session on this cd-rom.

What's wrong, the drive or the controller? - My drive has a 1.07 software release.

P166, 32MB RAM, AHA2940U, ID0: Quantum ATLAS 4,3GB, ID2: Quantum FB 2,1 GB, ID3: Pioneer 10x,
ID4: Philips CDD2600.

regards, Klaus from Berlin

Just a thought.  Have you check the 'sysnc' setting of the SCSI card?  Make
sure the sync negotiation is set to off.

1. Changing the Read Speed on CD Creator 2.0 w/Philips CDD 2600

I was glad to see that the problems I have been having concerning the
quality of audio extraction with my CDD 2600 is due to the 6x read speed
setting.  However, I have been unable to figure out how to change the
reading speed using Adaptec's CD Creator 2.0.  Does anyone know if this is
possible, and if so how it is done?  I know it is possible to do it under
EZ CD Pro, but I don't have that software, and would prefer not to buy it
(or any other software package) if at all possible.  Thanx.
