Bard's Tales II and III

Bard's Tales II and III

Can someone tell me if Bard's Tales II an III exist on ST. If not I

May be nobody want to make any effort after Dungeon Master which is
(and will be for a while) the best role playing computer game.
More generally I noticed that there are not a lot of interesting role
playing games, and the few I have had fun with (D.M. and Bard's Tales)
seem to end. Why do good software for only one computer. The ST and the Amiga
have similar capacities but I can only find Amiga software.
I have had a C64, which I changed for a ST and I DON'T WANT TO CHANGE FOR
AN AMIGA NOW.

Can someone explain all this to me, poor little ST_MANIAC
Olivier.

might as well reply.  EA is slow in coming out with programs for the Amigas.
I talked to EA, and they don't know WHEN it will be out for them, so I'm sure
it's the same for the ST (BTIII).  Please take the parenthesis as

Bard's Tales II and III

  Does anybody out there own or have programmed in OSS's Personal Pascal?
I'm having a few problems.  First does Personal have a random number generator?
I looked all around and could not find one. The result is having to write
my own, but I would much rather use a built in one. Second how do you
clear the screen in Personal??  I know you can import the procedure
Clear_Screen from the GemLib but this does not set the cursor back to the
home position. Is there any clear screen or home function which does this?

      Thanks for any and all help

The easiest way to get a random number is with the XBIOS random
function.

FUNCTION Random : Long_Integer ;
XBIOS(17) ;

This returns a 24 bit random number.

I usually use an escape sequence to do this.

write(chr(27),'E') ;   { ESCAPE 'E' -- CAPITAL E -- clears the screen }

This information comes out of Atari ST Internals from Abacus
Software, but there is apparently another book available that is a
lot better organized, though the name escapes me...I can find it if
there's any interest.

1. Bard's Tale II ????

I have sent this message before but it was lost (at least to me) during the
virus snafu and I saw neither the posting to info-atari nor received any
replies.  But here it is again:

I have recently seen Bard's Tale III for the Apple II.  This indicates to
me that Electronic Arts is more interested in producing new Apple II
versions than port existing ones to other computers (other than Commodore
64), namely Atari STs.  I really enjoyed Bard's Tale I and have been
looking forward (for a couple years now) for the release of Bard's Tale II
for the ST.

Does anyone know why Electronic Arts is not porting Bard's Tale II to the
ST? Or any 16 bit computer for that matter.

Peter
