Startgem on newer hardware?

Startgem on newer hardware?

Has anyone got a program like startgem that will work on the STe?
I used to use some of the startgem spin-offs to start gulam out of the
auto folder, but now that I have upgraded machines, I am no longer able to
do that.  If someone has something out there, I would greatly appreciate
getting my hands on it.

The STE can Auto run any Gem Program on bootup, and it does not have
to be in the Auto folder, so why do you nead startgem..??...

This is under install application..

1. 1040ste 'startgem'

- So I got a 1040ste. It's really cool.

Hook it up to a couple of external speakers.  Get STEDEMO.LZH (or
.PRG) from atari.archive.  Get STEPLAY and some good Noisetracker
mods.  You're all set!  Show an Amiga user. ;^)

- Anyway, how do I do the 'startgem' on the ste? It won't work, but I
- seem to remember seeing a different way of doing the same thing.

Select the program to want to autoboot.  Select Install Application
from the Options menu, select AUTO, and save the desktop.

Quick tip: if you want the desktop to come up in medium resolution
without the use of STE_FIX.PRG, change the 12 to 13 in the fifth line
of DESKTOP.INF.
