"new window" for "list view links" problem

Post by Lubk » Sat, 14 Sep 2002 04:03:18

Hi guys,

I have a page which contains a frame. The page that is called into this
frame contains a announcement list. When I click on one of the items of this
list, the item is shown in the frame but I want it to open in the top level
window. Therefore I added into the page the code <base target="_top" /> but
it doesn't help because the list view webbot inserts several javascript
links. I think one of these javascript files redirects the clicked links to
the same window. I tried deleting all the javascript shit but the webbot
keeps on putting it in again.

Anyone experienced this problem before ?

thanks

Patrik

I added

<BASE TARGET="_top">

right before the BODY tag of an STS page here, and it works like a champ for
me.  Of course, that's with IE 6; your browser might handle multiple BASE
elements differently.  I have views opening in IFRAMEs and use this <BASE
TARGET="_top"> reference to make their links open in the full window.

Ignore that last post of mine.  It works for me because I also modified the
OWS.JS on this particular staging server to open all links on the top
window.

So the lesson here is: Check your OWS.JS -- a combination of the <BASE
TARGET="_top"> element (right before the <BODY> element) and a judicious
editing of your OWS.JS will solve your problems.

Oh, well, okay. ;)  I thought it might be an unclean test since we have a
very heavily modified OWS.JS on the box I tested on.

1. Problems with special characters like ("?","ü","?","?",aso.)

Hi

I use Samba 2.0.4b.
When I copy a file with a filename including a special
character from a win95 machine to my linux server, I dont find the special
characters any more. They have changed to "_" or something like that.

What can I do?
Do I have to write something special in the smb.conf?
